Important Changes to Our Privacy Policy for GDPR

Dear FTGate users

On the 25th May 2018, the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect. Under this new law, European standards in data protection shall align with current technology standards. This is good news for all of our users who are affected by data processing and these new rules will help to maintain standards in relation to the security of individual personal data.

We have now updated our Privacy Policy in accordance with the new General Data Protection Regulation.
What this means for you:

• Comprehensive protection of your personal data;
• Standardisation of the European data protection; and
• Adoption of data protection in line with technology changes.

Most of our FTGate users have used our software and have known and trusted us for many years. They know that at FTGate Technology, customer privacy is of top priority to us. As a data collector and processor we are committed to meeting the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and we conform to information security best practices. We also conform to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.

How we protect your data

Not only do we maintain full anti-virus and trojan protection, scanning all machines on our network and all email that is both sent and received, but we also take steps to make sure that your credit card and other personal information could not fall into the wrong hands. Our site has comprehensive security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and unauthorized alteration of the information under our control. More specifically, we use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive personal information such as credit card information.

Our network is protected by a high specification hardware firewall appliance and our network is segregated such that only authorised users on specifically authorised machines can access your data. At no time do we see your credit card information and these are not stored on our system. All card transactions are subject to military grade encryption and are handled directly by our Merchant Services Provider, for which the security is constantly monitored by Security Metrics. We are fully PCI DSS compliant.
Our security infrastructure is under constant review and testing, plus we always take steps to introduce the latest security improvements that are available.

Mailing Lists and Newsletters

Because we have a strong ethical objection to spam, we will not add your details to general mailing lists and we do not use mailing lists for marketing purposes. Many companies use email to promote themselves, but we don’t do this as we think it’s spamming. We will not cold-call you. We will not send you newsletters. Our mailing lists of customer’s and users email addresses, including yours, have been securely deleted.

Communications with our users are mainly confined to answering any questions you may have, letting you know about FTGate updates and new versions, providing support and letting you know when your FTGate service is about to expire.

To find out about our products and services, you are very welcome to visit our comprehensive FTGate web site and of course you are welcome to email us if you have any questions.

Support Forum

In addition, we have reluctantly closed the old FTGate Support Forum. Although this was rarely used any more, it was nevertheless a useful occasional resource for existing FTGate users who wished to read through the old posts. Unfortunately the Support Forum software did not comply with GDPR standards, so we have had to discontinue it. In future, you can reach our Support team by emailing support@ftgate.com and they will be happy to help you.

Finally

A full account of how we use your data is located in our latest Privacy Policy which you can read here.

Of course, if you no longer wish to use FTGate at any time or if you no longer wish to receive communications from us at all, please let us know and we will arrange this for you.

Thanks to all of you for using FTGate and we look forward to many years of continuing to serve you.

All the best,

FTGate Technology team
