"Like, I suspect, many small companies, our journey into ICT has been a fairly haphazard one. We started with a peer-to-peer network, added an NT4 server and suddenly realised that this whole world of "connectivity" was opening up to us. But how would we manage it?
Cost, including technical learning and deployment time, those 5 or 6 years ago, was a very big issue. We spent some time trying to find a way to offer our staff corporate email, and the "obvious" MS solution appeared to us too expensive, and way too much of a learning curve. ...

"We endorse FTGate without reservation. We have used FTGate in our small law firm for nearly five years. Out of all the software we own, it is the most trouble free. It is truly "set and forget" software. In fact, the only times that we have had any difficulty is when we have switched (1) internet service providers, (2) domain hosts or (3) local servers. And on each such occasion, the difficulty was not due to any issues with FTGate, but rather the fact that when you haven't looked at a program in many months or longer, you are sometimes rusty in making configuration changes.
I am a lawyer, not a consultant or engineer. I have no technical training. But I am able to install, maintain and upgrade FTGate without trouble. And on those rare occasions when I have been unsure what to do, the combination of FTGate's support department and the FTGate Forum community have made quick work of remedying the problem. I wholeheartedly recommend FTGate to any small business owner who wants more control, security and flexibility for his/her organization's email than is permitted by letting a web host provide the email boxes.
