The UPSP has been developed in response to customer requests for an inexpensive annual payment Plan which will keep organisations always up to date with the latest supported version.

If you maintain your UPSP, you will ensure that your organisation will always have the latest version of FTGate without any additional cost during the term of the plan. You will never again have to worry about unexpected costs of keeping your mail server up to date. Providing your UPSP is up to date and you have the latest version, you will also ensure that you continue to receive the same high standards of technical support.

We highly recommend that all users maintain their UPSP. Although FTGate is very easy to maintain, most of our users require security updates and technical support at some stage, and we can only assist you with updates, plus free email or forum support if you have maintained your UPSP.

When Does the UPSP run from ?

With the initial purchase of your FTGate starter license, you will receive a full year of upgrade protection and support free of charge.
The UPSP is tied to the date of purchase of the FTGate Starter licence. After renewal the UPSP runs from 1 year from the date of purchase.

When can I purchase the UPSP ?

You can purchase the UPSP from one month before the UPSP expires and one month after the UPSP has expired.
Towards the end of the UPSP period, we will automatically send several renewal messages to the email address on the members web site, informing you that you have the option to renew the Upgrade Protection and Support Plan. The number of days left on your UPSP will also be displayed within WebAdmin in your FTGate server.

After the upgrade Protection and Support Plan expires, you have up to 30 days in which to renew at this price. After the renewal period has expired users who wish to renew their UPSP may do so during the following year at double the normal renewal price. After this time a full product upgrade price will be charged (currently 90% of the RRP). UPSP renewals will run for one year from the expiry date of the original UPSP.

What If I purchase Additional Mailbox Licences ?

The UPSP for Additional mailbox licences will run until the original FTGate starter licence is due for renewal. The UPSP renewal price for additional mailbox licences is calculated in the same way as the UPSP for the starter licence i.e. 35% of the RRP.

Is the UPSP compulsory ?

The Upgrade Protection and Support Plan is optional. FTGate will still continue to function normally after your Upgrade Protection and Support Plan term expires; however, the UPSP must be current in order to receive additional software upgrades and support free of charge.

After the initial release of FTGate, all patches and updates will require your UPSP to be current. If at the end of the UPSP period you decide not to renew the plan then you will no longer be eligible for technical support or any updates or patches. You will also be unable to use the UBEBlock+ anti-spam enhancements.

Will renewing the UPSP promptly save me money ?

Yes. As a major version of FTGate is planned for release every eighteen months or so, we highly recommend that all users maintain the Upgrade Protection and Support Plan. This will save you a great deal on the normal upgrade price in the future, plus it will ensure that you continue to receive technical support.

What is the Cost of the UPSP ?

The price is only 35% of the current Recommended Retail Price (RRP) of the FTGate license as long as your current Upgrade Protection and Support Plan has not expired.

Do I have to register or activate anything after I order ?

There are no certificates of authenticity for the UPSP, and there are no licence keys or activation procedures necessary. The whole process is automatically updated on the members web site, so after your order has been processed, there is normally nothing for you to do.

How can I tell how long I have left before I need to renew ?

You can easily see how long you have remaining of the UPSP by looking at your registration page within FTGate, or by logging into your account and selecting Manage Licences
