FTGate5 Anti-Virus support

FTGate has the ability to use your anti-virus package installed on the server machine to scan incoming and outgoing message for viruses. You can select to scan all the attachments or just some, and also specify whether to delete or to quarantine the messages.

The rapid rate at which viruses can spread can sometimes lead to a virus being sent to your system before your anti-virus vendor has had a chance to update their scanners to detect it. To combat this FTGate allows you to specify a set of dangerous attachment types and how you want to handle them. Thus if a message arrives with a .scr (screen saver) attachment (a popular virus carrier) you can choose to delete or quarantine the message or Purge (remove) the attachment from the message before completing delivery.
